One Powerful Question That Guarantees Acceleration with Intention
Hard work without clarity doesn’t accelerate you. It exhausts you.
For a long time, I thought I was going to go pro. When I was given an opportunity of a lifetime, from the streets of Kenya to Ghana, to the USA, it seemed obvious. This was it. This was the path.
But looking back now, I can admit something honestly that it was all in my head.
I worked hard like a machine without shortcuts. And the results followed consecutively throughout my college years:
- Most Improved Player
- Most Improved Athlete
- Most Improved Field Athlete
- Most Valuable Field Athlete
- Defender of the Year
Everything was going well until I reached a crossroads.
The Question That Changed Everything
I was transferring to a new college for my dual engineering program and had a decision to make.
Do I double down on athletics? Or do I shift my focus entirely?
So, I called a friend and asked a simple question:
“Do you think I should join the athletics team?”
He paused, then he said something I’ll never forget:
“Felix, look at me. I hold the 100-meter school record. It still hasn’t been broken. And now both my knees are busted. I can’t even dance the way I used to.”
That conversation changed everything.
When Focus Becomes a Mission
From that moment on, my focus became my mission:
Finish my Engineering degree. Nothing else.
It wasn’t about quitting ambition. It was about choosing direction.
Looking back now, I can clearly see how one simple question helped me accelerate with intention into Engineering Leadership.
The Real Truth About Big Decisions
Here’s what I’ve learned since then:
The most important decisions aren’t solved by working harder. They’re solved by asking the right question at the right time.
Hard work compounds only after clarity. Because without clarity, effort just drains you.
